So, last week, I made my debut in the literature community with The Eccentric Marshall Taylor: Park's Gone Wild. The story was conceived by countless visits to Barnes & Noble. Strolling down the aisles, I noticed there was a lack of epic and low fantasy stories that had Blacks as the main protagonists. Usually, Blacks are sidekicks or reduced to minor roles. One day, I stumbled across a book titled The Red Pyramid, written by Rick Riordan. In that book, a young Black kid, by the name of Carter Kane, is the main protagonist. I'm a fan of Riordan's Percy Jackson books and I'm ashamed that I never heard of the series: The Kane Chronicles.
